Raising awareness about domestic violence and the resources available to prevent and respond to this issue
Domestic abuse, also known as spousal abuse/family/intimate partner or relationship violence. A pattern of physical, emotional, verbal and or sexual abuse by one person in an intimate relationship or marriage that means harm or tries to dominate and control the other person. An abuser often uses fear, shame, isolation, intimidation, financial control and guilt to keep someone from seeking help. Often threatening to hurt you and or someone you love. The violence does not discriminate as it happens among heterosexual couples, in same-sex partnerships, roommate or caretaker relationships; within all age ranges, ethnic backgrounds, and financial levels.
Publication designed to promote education about partner abuse and relationship violence.
